Art and Nature: A Celebration of Student Creativity

On May 1, E.B. Ellington proudly hosted its annual student art show, Art and Nature, an inspiring event that brought together creativity, community, and a love for the natural world. The show featured artwork from all grade levels, with students using a variety of materials and techniques to explore themes inspired by nature.

The school hallways were transformed into a colorful gallery filled with paintings, drawings, sculptures, and mixed-media pieces—all created by our talented young artists. Each piece reflected students' observations of nature and their unique artistic interpretations of the environment around them.

“This exhibit is a wonderful reminder of how closely connected art and the natural world can be,” said Mogan Koewler, art teacher. “Our students have worked hard to express their ideas with both imagination and heart.”

Families and community members who attended were treated to student-led tours, an immersive art event, and food truck offerings. The event was a joyful celebration of student work and a testament to the power of creativity in education.

Thank you to all who attended and supported the art program. We look forward to next year’s show!

I absolutely love working here at E.B Ellington Elementary. Each day I wake up with a purpose and a goal to motivate and lead these students down a successful path. I’m from this community, so watching our children face challenges a still overcome them with so much growth and blossom each year is such a great experience. I love being that outlet person that they can rely on each day no matter if they’re my students or not. That really shows the level of trust and comfort that they have for me. Teaching has become my passion and I wouldn’t want to do it anywhere other than here at E.B Ellington. -Shalandria Middleton, 3rd grade teacher
